The draw was held on December 15 inviting 668 Express Entry candidates under the provincial nomination. Targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) were issued to candidates qualified for the stream of Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) with profiles in the federal Express Entry system.
The Express Entry candidates received NOIs from the Tech Draw with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 460 and 468 receive an invite. An active job offer is not a requirement in this scenario for the candidates but will need at least a year of work experience in any of the following tech occupations:
NOC 0213 – (Computer and information systems managers)
NOC 2147 – (Computer engineers)
NOC 2172 – (Database analysts and data administrators)
NOC 2173 – (Software engineers and designers)
NOC 2174 – (Computer programmer and interactive media developers)
NOC 2175 – (Web designers and developers)
The candidates who received an NOI will now have 45 days to submit their application to apply for the provincial nomination. Upon receiving an invite from Ontario under the provincial nomination category the candidate will be automatically awarded 600 Crs score towards their application. The extra point will assure the sure chances of receiving an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence in the Express Entry draws held thereafter. This applies or any candidate nominated under any of the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) in Canada.
In the year 2020, the draw held on July 29 is the biggest yet with an invites issued for 1,288 express entry candidates to apply for Provincial nominee. And in 2020 alone, Ontario issued 9,082 invitations across three streams( Human Capital Priorities stream, French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream, and Skilled Trades stream). And out of these Ontario has issued 7,819 provincial nominations till December 10.
